Android stealing Apples? are they losing it?

From my point of view, iPhone is a revolutionary product. Apple designed this product keeping in mind the touch screen market. When iPhone was released, entire mindset that people had for touch screen phones was changed by the company. People then started looking Windows CE phones as slow operating systems with no real compatibility for touch screens because they all needed a stylus. Then HTC came up with custom UIs but still the inner core of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile operating systems had to be changed.
Android is operating system for touch screen mobile phones made to compete with iPhone market. It had all the features that other touch screen OSes did not had. However, Google managed to keep the prices for Android OSes low so as to target average customer.
Today, Android’s HTC EVO is capable of competing with iPhone 4.

Apple, really made a breakthrough when they told everyone about the iPhone 4 because at that time, I think there was no phone that could do HD 720p recording of videos or could really do facetime. Everyone was bubbling with excitement. But when Apple really did released the mobile, the excitement was lost. Apple did gave what they told, but they also gave what they did not tell. The antenna problem. No one would like to have a smart phone with 720p recording, 1GHz A4 processor and more awesome features that would drop calls and lose reception. This is the point of advantage for Androids. Apple did everything right but just one wrong (in doing right) which will I think steal their market. Android releases the 2.2 update and now the 3.0 update which seems a breakthrough. Devices like HTC Desire, HTC Wildfire are just as capable as iPhone 4 and what’s more? They don’t drop calls!

Whenever I go to the electronic mall, now-a-days, I see people’s increased interest in Android phones because they are cheaper and more customizable. You can’t change iPhone’s UI but everyone’s android is distinct and different because of loads of customizable options available. This does not mean that apple’s making bad phones but I think that the external antenna move was awkward and wrong.

I hope that the next iPhone version makes a mark in the world of touchscreens!
