3 Golden Rules for enhancing the performance of your PC

Here are some of the best ways to enhance the performance of your PC. These tips and tricks and tricks work best on Windows Vista. So, if you are unable to buy Windows 7, and you want to make your Windows Vista as fast as Windows 7, then follow on these:
  • Defragment your PC regularly. This is the best option to quicken your PC because it reduces the time that the needle of your hard drive takes to move around for searching the data on it. Let me tell you what this thing actually is.
a.       When you save/install any data on your hard drive, it gets allocated on different fragments.
b.      These fragments are at different places. So, same program may not have contagious fragments.
c.       When you run the program, the needle of your hard drive takes time to jump from one fragment to another. This time is cannot be neglected because the processing time also increases consecutively.
d.      A defragmenter gets all fragments together so that the processing time decreases and needle will not have to jump from one fragment to another for getting data.
e.      Also, fragments which are on the outer side of hard drive are accessible faster than those which are on the inner side.
f.        Not all defragmenting programs have same results. Some are highly efficient while some just do standard actions.
g.       I’ve heard and experiences about the problems related to Windows Disk Defragmenter in Windows Vista. Hence as a solution, I found out Auslogics Disk Defragmenter. This is highly efficient software program and it runs much more faster than Windows Disk Defragmenter.
h.      It’s main feature enables you to allow the Auslogics Disk Defragmenter to move fragments of recently used files to outer side of your hard drive. This speeds up your computer to great extent.
i.         Defragmenting your hard drive daily has no harm. On the contrary, it increases the performance of your computer.

  • Scan the hard drive for errors. Do you know how many errors does your hard drive contain? These errors are errors of the file system and it can be repaired by the computer itself. Open My Computer. Right click the hard drive that you wish to scan. From the context menu, click on Properties. This will open the properties dialog box. Click on Tools tab and click on Scan Now button in the Error Checking. Click on Scan and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box to recover your errors. If the selected disk is your primary partition or disk, then it will instruct you to schedule it for next restart. Due to errors, your computer gets slowed down because the computer has to jump from one error to another till the task gets completed.

  •  Scan the registry. Registry is the heart of a Windows computer (PC). Information about program installation, settings, preferences, and large amount of technical information is stored in registry. Sometimes, of the program has not been made efficiently, when it is uninstalled, some of the data stays in the registry unused. Also, sometimes, it gets corrupted and many times false entries are created somehow. To correct this, you’ll need a registry scanning tool. Auslogics Registry Cleaner is best tool to my knowledge. It is fast, efficient and trustworthy. Be sure you use right tool for right job or else you’ll mess up the whole thing. Remember, Registry is the heart of your computer and never ever allow any untrusted, suspicious looking program scan it. If registry gets badly corrupted, you may leave your PC unusable.
